In a world where humans hold a totalitarian rule, you play as a cat in a skilled group of street animals trying to rescue your crew to take down this human authority. Using turn-based tactical RPG style combat, you must strategically use special abilities unique to each animal to succeed!

This game, built by a small team of final-year university students, is a turn-based strategy RPG, with stealth aspects interwoven into the gameplay. We intend to target people who enjoy story focused games in these genres, such Fire Emblem and some Final Fantasy games. This subset of the audience will be enticed by a game with a compelling narrative so as to pull players back to finish the story.

The Nightwatch

**is-it-ready** is a CLI (with a VS Code extension) that answers one question before every push: is my code actually ready to go to main?

It started from workflow friction. Some engineers on my team were adamant that git pre-commit hooks was necessary to run linting and formatting checks, but that slows down commits and creates an unnecessary coupling. I've always personally just run the checks I needed to throughout development, though at the same time, I occasionally forgot to run one of the required tasks locally and only found out in CI.

The real issue wasn’t tooling - it was feedback timing.

So I built a config-driven readiness gate that mirrors CI locally. One command runs formatting, linting, tests, audits, or any custom task - in parallel - and produces a deterministic pass/fail signal.

Key design decisions:

- Exit codes are the source of truth (CI-aligned).
- Tasks are fully command-driven, making it ecosystem-agnostic (I use it for Node and Python projects).
- Parallel execution for speed, with controlled output.
- Optional, user-defined `--fix` mode for safe, explicit auto-fixes.
- Watch mode debounced to avoid thrashing.

The only requirement is a config file, which makes adoption trivial - even on repositories that don't explicitly support **is-it-ready**.

This project reflects how I think about engineering: improve feedback loops, reduce friction, and make the "right thing" the easiest thing to do.

This portfolio isn't a simple static site - it is a CMS-backed platform designed to eliminate drift between my website, resume, and job applications.

When I first built my portfolio, I maintained a separate LaTeX pipeline for resume generation, which meant duplication of data and manual syncing of professional history across systems. Over time, I progressively centralized the data - first into a shared JSON source, then into MongoDB, and eventually into a purpose-built MySQL-backed CMS.

Today, the public-facing site is read-only, but all data is managed through a single-tenant, admin-only control surface. Every resume, job-specific variant, and portfolio page is derived from the same canonical dataset.

Key capabilities:

- Structured experience editor (positions, education, certifications, etc.).
- Dynamic resume generation (HTML to PDF).
- Automated LinkedIn job scraping.
- Job-specific resume customization.
- Server-side feature flags with instant propagation.
- Google Analytics integration with internal dashboard.
- Admin-scoped user preferences.

Resumes are generated on demand from structured data, treating them as derived artifacts rather than static documents. Public rendering uses Next.js server components, while the admin surface is isolated behind authenticated controls. Feature flags are stored in the database and evaluated server-side, allowing safe experimentation without the risk of users seeing anything that they are not supposed to.

Portfolio

The Unit Management System is a web application that is designed to help unit coordinators run their units more efficiently. It is designed to be a complete software solution for all administrative processes, including student enrolment, staff hiring, and assessment marking.

It was build from the ground up to be an all-in-one solution to replace the need for each unit coordinator to create their own spreadsheets to manage their units. This means that the software is designed to be as user-friendly as possible, with a focus on ease of use and simplicity.

Unit Management System

This is a quick project I started up to help perform some basic data analysis into student evaluations at Monash University. It's a very much a work-in-progress as I can't dedicate much time on it, but at a minimal data visualisation tool, it works.

It is build using NextJS and React, as well as Recharts for the data visualisation. In the backend is a collection of Python scripts that scrape all of the data from each unit report which is then uploaded to the database. From there, the data is pulled into the frontend and displayed in a series of graphs and tables. Future development will include breakdowns for each faculty, course, degree, campus, and so on, all feature within a highly integrated an interactive interface.

Why did I make this, though? Well, like most of my projects, this started as a set of spreadsheets which which I was using to help decide where my team would focus our efforts in future unit offerings. Because I wan only interested in my unit, I elected to do the data scraping by hand, which was tedious, but much faster that 'doing it properly', though I soon decided to expand this data visualisation tool to include another unit... and then another and another. Before I knew it, I was writing the webscraper, and a whole new website to display the data. A bit of scope creep, but it was done in a weekend and it was a great learning experience working with so much data.

No BS Chef is a recipe website that is only about sharing recipes and nothing else. No need to wade through endless blogs and stories just to find a recipe that works for you - just scroll through or search for something you like and get cooking right away!

This website is a passion project of mine that I wanted to develop to help me when I'm in the kitchen.

As someone who likes to cook but often struggles to remember the specific requirements of recipes (even ones I've cooked dozens of times before!), I rely quite heavily on written recipes to support the cooking process. For me, I really just want to know how much of each ingredient I require, and how long to cook different parts of the recipe.

Now, I could just use a written diary - which I do when coming up with my own recipes or when modifying existing recipes for my own twist - but for the rest of it I need to find recipes somewhere, and that somewhere is the internet.

One of my major pet peeves about this though is how difficult it is to find a recipe that I like without having to wade through never-ending stories about sentimental experiences the author has with this particular recipe - I really just want to know how long to cook something, seriously!

Enter No BS Chef - it's my attempt to create an online cooking resource for myself and countless other like-minded individuals who just want to cook. This website prioritises the user experience above all else. This means that I will strive to keep this a free platform, devoid of intrusive advertisements and dodgy subscription services.

I've developed this using NodeJS to handle the server-side content delivery and a NoSQL database in the form of MongoDB to contain all of the recipes. This website is also using a collection of plugins like ExpressJS to handle dynamic page generation too.

Currently I am running this in my own scalable 'data center' of sorts which is running a collection of servers and softwares like Docker/Kubernetes, though my intention is to move this to AWS if it starts seeing more traffic than my network can handle.

No BS Chef

This is a quick site I build for visualising banking transactions across multiple accounts. While most banking apps nowadays have this built right in, it has the small issue of being limited to your account, with no way of viewing spending habits across multiple people (e.g. spouses).

This app allows my partner and I to track all of our income and expenses in a single place without needing to worry about combining our accounts into a single one, which would have been problematic as we use different banks entirely.

It also has the option of applying custom tags and categories to each transaction automatically (and manually) based on a set of user-defined maps. This way, come tax season it is a lot easier to track which transactions are work related and which are gifts, speeding up the process of tax returns.

Currently, this is a dashboard that I am only running for myself, but eventually I would like to build this into a full product with integrations into most of the major banks in Australia, enabling anyone to better manage their own finances.

Afro Disco! The game where you dance your friends into submission. From University project to passion endeavour, Afro Disco is a fully fledge game in which chess meets bejeweled. Line up your dancers to outperform your friends!

The gameplay of Afro Disco is unlike what you might see in a strategy game or in a 'dance' game. It revolves around setting your dancers up in specific permutations to perform dance moves (hence the Bejeweled analogy) that shove your opponents from the dance board. Some dance moves require you to use your lead dancer to 'take lead' and therefore require more setup to perform with a greater reward. Some moves push, move moves pull, some moves shuffle and some moves throw dancers, and the whole goal of the game is to eliminate either 3 out of 5 dancers or shove your opponents lead dancer off the dance floor.

Afro Disco started as a University project among friends for one of our game design classes. Given the whole semester to make a game, we began work immediately creating this disco dance game. The idea for the name comes from the fact that two of our members have afros and as a result of game design classes prior.

My role in the group is as the project manager and the lead artist. All of the art assets were created by me except for the character models as that is one of my weaknesses in modeling.

The game is currently set for release on the 15th of February 2018, though after that date we will likely continue to keep working on the game throughout the year providing free updates and dlc. Currently the game is set to only make a debut on Android but perhaps we will aim to get dev rights on iOS and even release on steam some day.

This website started as a place for me to put up my various university assignments, and I was only making it to be eligible to apply to a particularly strict unit that I wanted to study. I required a website portfolio, so I made one. Now at the time, this website was honestly not great, especially since I threw it all together in the space of a weekend while working on my assignments, but since then it has slowly progressed into what it is today.

In mid-2022, I finally decided to redesign the website from the ground up, and turn it into a full-stack application. I wanted to incorporate into the website my resume, which I already had in a LaTeX-compatible format but not a web-compatible format. I took this opportunity to dump all of my data into a database which would then feed into the frontend. Later, I also created a resume generator which would allow me to edit my resume online and then download it in a PDF format.

This is a quick website I spun up to replace my need for Photoshop when creating icons for my units. Initially, I wrote it all in Python (which worked fine) but I found it tedious to share with my non-technical colleagues, so I rebuilt it to be a web app. It is still a work in progress and some features are missing, but at least I don't owe Adobe any money anymore.
